Holistic Holiday at Sea – Holistic Vegan Eco-Cruise!

When I heard there was a holistic veggie eco-cruise out there I could barely contain myself!! YUP, these are the things that get me excited! But food is just the tip of the iceberg for this unique cruise. It combines health, fitness, luxury, healing, education and entertainment all into one sunny, clear Caribbean water, self-rejuvination package!

Holistic Holiday at Sea is a once a year cruise that will revamp your mind, body and spirit. This year’s cruise is from February 27th until March 6th, 2011. It leaves from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and will stop in Jamaica, the Grand Cayman and Mexico.

While on board you’ll dine on specially prepared organic natural foods and beverages prepared by internationally known natural food chef Mark Hanna. All meals will be dairy-free, vegan, and organic whenever possible. All desserts will be sugar and dairy-free. Macrobiotic quality, organic/naturally fermented condiments such as miso, shoyu, umeboshi and sun-dried sea salt will be used exclusively.  They can accommodate specific dietary needs and special healing menus are available upon request. Sample dishes include Seitan Paella, Shiitake Pate with Rice Crackers and Blueberry Peach Crumble.

This won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re anything like me, this is what you’d consider HEAVEN. For me, taking care of the animals, the earth, and our own bodies all go hand in hand. This cruise represents all of that.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell

Throughout your trip you’ll attend a wide variety of lectures, workshops, and private consultations by leading authorities in the fields of alternative health and holistic healing, such as Dr. T. Colin Campbell (an author of The China Study), NBA veteran John Salley, mind/body medicine pioneer Joan Borysenko, Ph.D, and celebrity vegan health advocate Marilu HenClick here to see who else is presenting this year.

Bryant Terry, author of Vegan Soul Kitchen

The learning and eating doesn’t stop there! You’ll also attend daily cooking classes taught by internationally known natural food chefs and cooking teachers – like Isa Chandra Moskowitz of Veganomicon (my husband & I have spent many exciting Friday nights perusing supermarkets with this book in hand)! Some classes will focus on a specific food type while others will focus on themes such as seasonal cooking or basic vegan fare. You will learn, taste and take home amazing recipes! Click here to see who else will be teaching!

On top of ALL THAT this cruise is aboard one of the greenest, most eco-friendly luxury ships in the industry! At each exotic breathtaking port you can participate in tours ranging from natural, relaxing and cultural tours to active, sports-oriented excursions. On board you’ll enjoy the boat’s luxurious staterooms, 50 foot waterfall, pools, live music, fourteen bars and lounges, disco, theater, etc. And for EVEN MORE mind, body and soul magic, there’s yoga, Pilates and meditation classes with experts such as internationally known yoga master, Yogi Amrit Desai, and founder of Baptiste Power of Yoga, Sherri Baptiste.

If this cruise sounds as original and heavenly to you as it does to me, book now because it only happens once a year and it fills up fast! Feel free to contact me and I’ll put you in touch with the right person or you can contact the cruise directlybut please let them know that you were referred by Your Time Travels and please let me know if you booked a reservation! And lastly, please take me with you!

WHOA!! This seriously sounds AMAZING and quite a contrast to the usual gorge-yourself-on-as-many-as-you-can-sliders-before-Casino-night-in-the-ballroom kinda cruises. Hmmmmmm…perhaps I might want to do this. :-)

I’m not even vegan, and I think this looks incredible! I’ve been on a couple of cruises in my life, and I told myself I’d never do it again (the excess! The excess!), but this is one I would definitely consider!
